Our Labrador puppies are bred to give you the best possible Labrador pup that
money can buy. If you want a hunt or field test dog, hunter/companion dog,
obedience, agility, search and rescue dog, that can be your special friend
and companion, a Deep Run puppy will be just right for you.

Our puppies are bred to provide you with a pup free of genetic defects, pleasing in appearance, and intelligent with a good attitude for learning. To the best of our knowledge, our breeding stock is free of common hereditary defects such as hip and elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, central retinal atrophy, cataracts, and thyroid disease as well as Exercise Induced Collapse, Centronuclear Myopathy, Retinal Dysplasia and Oculoskeletal Dysplasia.
When genetic tests are available for hereditary diseases, we usually have our dogs tested by an approved laboratory.
We now know that some of these diseases, previously perceived as hereditary, are influenced more by rearing, feeding, and neutering programs (See article Study Shines Spotlight On Neutering) than previously thought. We use the most current guidelines for nutrition and environment to give our pups the best possible start. We provide you with essential information on nutrition, body scoring and health care so you can take over when you get your puppy to provide an optimum environment.
We have been breeding Labradors for twenty years at this location, over 40 years in all and have faith in our breeding program, because it is backed by experience, education, and application.

All-American Black and Yellow puppies Due December 9, 2025

 Reacher’s mother, FC AFC Coal Delivery Black Betty, has 13 FC and AFC titles in her immediate pedigree.Reacher is the winner of the 2024 Rappahannock Supersingles event. We are looking forward to competing again this year. Reacher is a 70-pound black Labrador with a stunning head and build and lots of talent and personality. Reacher lives in the house and is a pleasure to have as a companion and watchdog. We hope to continue his field trial career in the coming months.  He is a friendly and biddable black dog (carries yellow) with good manners, both in the house and in the field. He is an excellent marker, and runs great blinds. He enjoys Hunt Tests as well as Field Trials.Reacher has all health clearances, OFA Excellent Hips, OFA Elbows, OFA Cardiac Advanced, CAER and PRA Clear Eyes, and is EIC, CNM and Dilute Clear. She enjoys her retrieving and completed her Junior Hunter Title going 4 for 4 passes.Her sire, U GCH, UCH Sam Spade JH is a son of GCH CCH, UGCH GCH Poplar Forest Play It Again Sam UD RA MH MHU......the first EVER Labrador Retriever to achieve AKC MH titles in both Retrieving and Upland Hunting. | Black and yellow pups due December 9, 2025 All-American Field bred pups will make excellent prospects for Field Trials, Hunt Tests, waterfowl and/or upland hunting. All pups will be introduced to live birds and water (weather permitting, in addition to the Deep Run Puppy Head Start program. Pups will be ready for new homes late January. All DEEP RUN puppies are born in the house,
have dewclaws removed, are wormed and vaccinated with the best biologicals
available. Pups are handled and well socialized, introduced to the collar and leash and
pigeons before they leave. Weather permitting, they are also introduced
to the water. Most puppies are sold before they are old enough to leave, so we recommend a
deposit as soon as you decide on a litter. If you come to pick up your
pup and don’t find him or her suitable, your deposit will be immediately
refunded or transferred to another litter. Please call Phyllis
