"If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them." -- Phil Pastoret

We are only currently accepting puppy deposits for customers who are within driving distance of our kennel. No airline transportation is currently available.

Our Labrador puppies are bred to give you the best possible Labrador pup that money can buy. If you want a hunt or field test dog, hunter/companion dog, obedience, agility, search and rescue dog, that can be your special friend and companion, a Deep Run puppy will be just right for you.

Read our commentary about responsible breeding

Our puppies are bred to provide you with a pup free of genetic defects, pleasing in appearance, and intelligent with a good attitude for learning. To the best of our knowledge, our breeding stock is free of common hereditary defects such as hip and elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, central retinal atrophy, cataracts, and thyroid disease as well as Exercise Induced Collapse, Centronuclear Myopathy, Retinal Dysplasia and Oculoskeletal Dysplasia.

When genetic tests are available for hereditary diseases, we usually have our dogs tested by an approved laboratory.

DDC Veterinary: DNA Services for Animals- Offers DNA tests for canine and equine species. Services include parentage, DNA genotyping, DNA banking, disease screening, and coat color prediction.

We now know that some of these diseases, previously perceived as hereditary, are influenced more by rearing, feeding, and neutering programs (See article Study Shines Spotlight On Neutering) than previously thought. Also a Great Health Article. We use the most current guidelines for nutrition and environment to give our pups the best possible start. We provide you with essential information on nutrition, body scoring and health care so you can take over when you get your puppy to provide an optimum environment.

We have been breeding Labradors for twenty years at this location, over 40 years in all and have faith in our breeding program, because it is backed by experience, education, and application.

"May we always have a young one full of promise to admit us to those places of wonderment only permissible while in the company of a Labrador" - Gene Hill from the epilogue of Richard's History of the Labrador.

Hatter is an 85 pound, well built, exceptionally handsome chocolate dog with a lot of talent and a great personality. He has a sense of humor, too. He is a pretty special dog with a very special pedigree: son of MHR Deep Run After Six, MH, grandson of GMHRCH Six O'Clock Scholar, MH.
Hatter is the first chocolate Labrador Retriever ever to receive Master Hunter titles in both Retrieving and Flushing, and he received both Master titles in one year.
He is an excellent marker, has a superior nose, and handles very nicely. He is a joy to train, run and hunt, whether on waterfowl or upland birds. He is a very fun dog to have around: he is always happy to get a towel and stand on the bumper to be dried off after any water work.
Hatter is OFA Hips Good, Elbows Normal, EIC and CNM Clear, OFA Cardiac, Full Dentition, Patellas Normal, OFA Eyes Clear. Here is a link to Hatter's OFA page.

Deep Run Business Class, JH, call name Frannie, is the product on an English sire and an American dam, both with spectacular pedigrees.
Sire is Grand Champion Ch Willcare To Fly Under the Radar, dam is Water's Edge Coffee Crisp.
Frannie is an energetic, charming and talented chocolate Labrador Retriever. She easily completed the requirements for her Junior Hunter Title, and loves to learn, train, and work. She has a lush medium dark chocolate coat, and the classic burnt sugar brown eyes classic for the breed.
Frannie has OFA Good Hips, Normal Elbows, Normal Patella. Current eye clearance through OFA, Cardiac Clearance, normal dentition, and is EIC and CNM Clear. Here is a link to her OFA page.

One chocolate girl is available.
These Pups should be spectacular upland and waterfowl hunters, as well as great companions and friends for any performance venue or active families.
