Our puppies are bred to provide you with a pup free of genetic defects, pleasing
in appearance, and intelligent with a good attitude for learning. To the best
of our knowledge, our breeding stock is free of common hereditary defects such
as hip and elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, central retinal atrophy,
cataracts, and thyroid disease as well as the less known problems such as labrador
myopathy, muscular dystrophy, cardiomyopathy, and dwarfism. We have been breeding
Labradors for twenty years and have faith in our breeding program. That is

Mr. Buddy is one of our very favorite dogs here at Deep Run Farm. He is the son of our "perfect dog" GMHRCH Six O'Clock Scholar, MH, QAA, NAHRA 1000 pts (deceased) and the daughter of one of our best foundation bitches Rocky Oaks Wishful Thinkin' (FC AFC Way Da Go Rocky daughter). He started doing retrieving demonstrations at the Harrisburg outdoor show when he was eight weeks old, and has been pleasing audiences with his antics ever since! He is a very talented marking dog with tremendous style both on land and in the water. Distance, terrain, or weather have no effect on his consistent abilities. He constantly amazes us with his ability to run the most complicated blinds in every situation. The most special thing about Buddy is his tremendous desire to please. He truly wakes up each morning asking what he can do for us today. He loves tricks, and anyone who has seen him run can attest to the fact that he likes to walk himself off line with his leash in his mouth. He also will politely jump on the bumper of our kennel truck when he needs to be dried off. Buddy has earned his GMHR and his Master Hunter title. Buddy has gone to a few Field Trials with Jack, and has earned a 4th Place and a Reserve JAM. Myra is one of our young shining stars here at Deep Run Farm. Sired by our own Am/UKC CH Rockycreek Wind and Smoke JH WCX, Myra has, in limited showing, cornered a Reserve to a Major at a supported entry, and Winners Bitch at the Spring 2010 Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac Specialty.  Ike is our social director of the house, a Champion, CD (Companion Dog), RE (Rally Excellent) and he passed his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) while his tail was wagging so hard his whole body shook!He welcomes new dogs into the house with open paws and thinks nothing of going into the whelping box to help clean the puppies. Ike has sired 5 champions and a Senior Hunter in two litters. At eight years old, he is still full of energy and very fit. His health is excellent, and we plan to enjoy him for many years to come.  Sam completed his AKC Championship on July 5, 2008, and in August completed his Canadian Championship in one week of showing and is now the newest Champion Master Hunter on our Deep Run Home Team. Sam is the son of TWO Champion Master Hunters. Sam completed his Championship with three majors, including several Best of Breed wins over Specials. He finished his Master Hunter title in June of this year. Sam completed his UKC Championship in one weekend of showing, with two Group 1's, a Group 3 and two Group 4's. THREE CHAMPION TITLES and a MASTER HUNTER TITLE in ONE YEAR!!!
Sam is very outgoing and friendly, and is very intelligent. He loves to please, and loves to work. He is a natural water dog, loves icy water and has a great thick double coat to keep him comfortable in all sorts of weather. He is a great marker with a natural good memory for multiple falls. He is very athletic, and loves to run and play with the other dogs here at Deep Run Farm.Sam was a star in the show ring, his soundness, sporty movement, and breed type caught the eye of the judges who gave him his wins. To those judges, we are grateful for recognizing this great young dog. Sam's father is CH Sundance's Paddy's Irish Cream, CD MH. Sam's mother, Am, Can CH Pembroke Black Mist Poplar Forest, MH, WCX is the youngest CH, MH in the history of the breed. Madonna is a lovely all English female sired by BISS CH Borador's By George, the Number 1 Labrador in the US in 2001. "Gordy" has won several specialty shows since 2001, and is still a charming, playful dog who gives his superior temperament and good looks to his pups. Madonna's mother is a granddaughter of BISS CH Caer Bren Mr Pickwick, JH, a large and handsome dog with Specialty wins. She is a repeat breeding of CH Belquest Bahama Breeze and litter sister to CH Belquest Lovely Lady Lumps ("Fergie) currently the Number 1 Labrador in the US.
Madonna is sweet and playful, she loves to retrieve, and always has a ball or stuffed toy in her mouth. Like her dad, her tail wags constantly.

Siskel is a big handsome son of two Specialty Winning Labradors, both ranked US No 1 Labrador in 2001 (Gordy) and 2006 (Lacey) Siskel's sire BISS CH Borador's By George is the top producing Labrador in AKC for 2007, 2008, 2009. With his exceptional outgoing friendly temperament, Gordy met all comers with a big stuffed toy and a request to pat and play with him. Gordy has also produced numerous hunt test and performance titled dogs. Siskel's dam BISS CH Sunspot's Lace'em Up JH WC is a spectacular showgirl, and won accolades from many judges who saw her during her year of being campaigned. Lacy has also been a great friend and fun companion for games of fetch or long walks. Lacy spends some of her time at Deep Run staying fit swimming, running and retrieving. |

Hero completed the requirements for his AKC Master Hunter Title on July 1, 2007 under respected judges Bob Reckart and Bruce Smith at the Presque Isle Retriever Club Summer Hunt Test and has joined the exclusive ranks of CH, MH Labrador Retrievers as the 41st Champion Master Hunter in the history of the breed. Rocky, Jack's handsome young Elvis son, has proved himself in Field Trials, Hunt and Field Tests, and most importantly, in the rivers and fields of Maryland and Virginia as a hunting companion extraordinaire.
He proudly placed as a finisher in the Maryland State Gun Dog Championship in December of 2006, one of six finalists. Rocky won THIRD PLACE at his first Qualifying. On his way to being QAA, Rocky placed Third in his first Qualifying Stake sponsored by the Labrador Retriever Club in Elkton, MD. His favorite pastime is Sea Duck Hunting in the Potomac, where he boldly leaps out of the boat into the icy river to swim out and recover eiders and scoters. His ability to locate downed birds, both dead and cripples, at great distances in the face of high winds and big waves is truly amazing. Rocky is also a terrific Goose dog, waiting patiently next to the layout blind until all the shots have been taken, then goes and collects the downed birds. Both Rocky and Jack were disappointed with the poor hunting this past winter, but look forward to the spring and summer to train and test in readiness for next season. Giggles is one of our favorite girls, always friendly and ready for anything from a game of tug of war with a towel to retrieving ducks on a hunting trip. She has lovely classic English body style, very stocky and with beautiful blocky head and heavy black coat. She is pointed in the show ring, and plans to resume her show career after this litter. Giggles truly is a dog who makes you laugh. Her tail always wags, every day is a great day, and every moment a delight to her. She loves to retrieve, and if you don't watch carefully, she may steal anything you set down or have in your pocket! Hombre had his thirteenth birthday last November, but he is still siring litters of exceptional good looks and ability. Hombre is from one of FC AFC Riparian Roughrider's last litters out of GMHR Princess Crystal Rana, MH, QAA. Hombre is 90 pounds of muscle with stunning conformation and sound movement. His marking ability is phenomenal and his blinds are exceptional. He has a perfect training attitude and is very consistent in trials. He qualified at every event in which he was run, finishing his MHR and he qualified for and at the 1999 RAW Invitational, and has completed his AKC Master Hunter; all before the age of two years. Perfect temperament with a relaxed, easy-going manner, great drive, tractability, and go-power in the field. 2008 Eyes clear, OFA Excellent, OFA Elbows, PennHIP .35, .42 (top 70th percentile). CNM and EIC clear. Hombre is now retired from competition, enjoying relaxing with our other retired boys and girls, sleeping by the TV, and going for frequent runs on the farm. |

Sally is the family pet and personal hunting dog of Rick Shields. Sally lives in the house and is a wonderful friend and companion. She is also a terrific working dog, and has been accompanying Rick on hunting trips since her first winter. Sally's dad is GMHRCH Silverbrook return To Sender MH (Elvis) and her mother is a daughter of NFC Maxx's Prize, a proven producer of top quality field dogs. Sally was largely trained by Rick, with a little help from Jack in completing her Master Hunter Title before the age of three. All DEEP RUN puppies are born in the house,
have dewclaws removed, are wormed and vaccinated with the best biologicals
available. 
Pups
are handled and well socialized, introduced to the collar and leash and
pigeons before they leave. Weather permitting, they are also introduced
to the water. We guarantee all our puppies 100%. If you are not happy with
a puppy from Deep Run, for any reason, we will cheerfully refund your money
or replace your puppy. Our puppies are our family members and we want them
to come back to us if they are not suitable in their adopted homes. Most
puppies are sold before they are old enough to leave, so we recommend a
deposit as soon as you decide on a litter. If you come to pick up your
pup and don’t find him or her suitable, your deposit will be immediately
