PUPPIES

pup1 Welcome to Deep Run Farm Puppies. We usually have superb field-pedigreed puppies available pup2

"I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts." -- John Steinbeck

Our Labrador puppies are bred to give you the best possible Labrador pup that money can buy. If you want a hunt or field test dog, hunter/companion dog, obedience, agility, search and rescue dog, that can be your special friend and companion, a Deep Run puppy will be just right for you.

Our puppies are bred to provide you with a pup free of genetic defects, pleasing in appearance, and intelligent with a good attitude for learning. To the best of our knowledge, our breeding stock is free of common hereditary defects such as hip and elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, central retinal atrophy, cataracts, and thyroid disease as well as the less known problems such as labrador myopathy, muscular dystrophy, cardiomyopathy, and dwarfism. We have been breeding Labradors for twenty years and have faith in our breeding program. That is why we offer an unconditional guarantee that you will be completely pleased with your puppy. We consider our pups to be permanent members of our family and will continue to be responsible for them their entire life. All pups born at Deep Run are welcome back at any time.

"May we always have a young one full of promise to admit us to those places of wonderment only permissible while in the company of a Labrador" - Gene Hill from the epilogue of Richard's History of the Labrador.

GMHR Morning Sun Dora MH, Dora, is a daughter of WR Pleasurethyme's Sebastion, JH (Littermate to BISS CH Simerdown Dr Pepper, winner of National Specialty and BOB at Eukanuba).
OFA Excellent, OFA Elbows, CERF, EIC Clear.
Deep Run Farm is proud to announce that we have leased Dora for this spectacular breeding from Morning Sun Retrievers, owned by Kevin and Wendy McLaren. Kevin and Wendy have provided this description of Dora:
Dora is a very special girl who excels in everything that she has been asked to do. She is an exceptional hunt test competitor, achieving both NAHRA GMHR and AKC Master Hunting titles, and is a wonderful hunting companion. She is equally at home in the ice covered waters retrieving ducks and geese as she is on the prairies of South Dakota searching cover for pheasants or sharp tails, intensely pointing her quarry.
Her greatest attribute, however, is her loving and devoted personality. She is our family's constant companion, happy to be riding with me in the utility vehicle or being the center of attention for our three and a half year old son, Alec. In the summer of 2008, Dora began another adventure, serving as a therapy dog in the Assisted Animal Therapy program at Augusta Medical Center. Dora is a real hit with the special needs patients, whether retrieving bumpers on command, patiently sitting while being brushed or just hopping up in the bed for a snuggle. She is eager to please, and is thrilled to bring some love and affection to every life she touches.
